Many of the files have been signed using GnuPG.
If so, there will be an accompanying file.asc signature file in the same directory as the file (binaries or source).
The signing keys can be found in the distribution directory at http://www.apache.org/dist/jmeter/KEYS.
Always test available signatures eg.
$ pgpk -a KEYS
$ pgpv jmeter-2.13.tar.gz.asc
$ pgp -ka KEYS
$ pgp jmeter-2.13.tar.gz.asc
$ gpg --import KEYS
$ gpg --verify jmeter-2.13.tar.gz.asc
JMeter 2.13 requires Java 6 or later

All of the release distribution packages have been digitally signed (using PGP or GPG) by the ASF committers that constructed them. There will be an accompanying distribution.asc file in the same directory as the distribution. The PGP/GPG keys can be found at the MIT key repository and within this project's KEYS file at http://www.apache.org/dist/jmeter/KEYS.
Always signatures to validate package authenticity, e.g., $ pgpk -a KEYS $ pgpv apache-jmeter-2.13.tgz.asc or, $ pgp -ka KEYS $ pgp apache-jmeter-2.13.tgz.asc or $ gpg --verify apache-jmeter-2.13.tgz.asc
We also offer MD5 hashes as an alternative to validate the
integrity of the downloaded files. See the
Note that such hashes are only useful as a check that the file has been downloaded OK. They do not provide any guarantee that the downloaded file is authentic.
